What We Do About Us

  Tripp Rhame   TRIPP RHAME
Director/DIRECTOR OF PHOTOGRAPHY
At the tender age of four, Tripp's future was forever altered when he lost a fingernail in the gears of a 16mm projector. Since that fatal day, it's been payback time. After graduating from The Atlanta College of Art, he began his ascent up the production ladder through the back-end, the editorial process. Hard work got him into Atlanta's premier edit houses and good fortune allowed Tripp to study under some of the best. While sharpening his edit stick working with agency and broadcast clients, Tripp purchased his first film camera in 1994. It was here that the road began to fork. In 2000 he entered the freelance world and two years later won the BDA Best of Show Judges Award for cinematography on Cartoon Network's Adult Swim launch campaign. Also that year Tripp was recruited by Primal Screen to serve as their Live Action Director and in-house editor. During that time he was part of many award winning projects synonymous with the Primal brand. In 2005 Tripp joined Spitfire Studios and began creating a production company like no other, working with clients such as Electronic Arts, SPIKE DDB, Saatchi & Saatchi NY, The Turner Networks, Nickelodeon, and The Weather Channel.

  Bryan Barber

Bryan Barber
Director
If you don't recognize the name you definitely know and respect his work. Visionary director and artistic genius, Bryan Barber knows how to deliver the goods and his hits keep coming. A native of East Palo Alto, CA and a graduate of Clark University, Barber is a case study of how hard work and talent pay off. After paying his dues climbing from the PA trenches to the Director's chair, Barber finally got the recognition he deserved in 2004 launching OutKast into the public forefront with back to back to back award winning videos for "Hey 'Ya!", "The Way You Move", and "Roses". Instant visual classics, Bryan's interpretation of the group kept them in the media spotlight winning numerous awards across the globe including MTV's Video of the Year. Keeping the creative juices flowing and the pedal to the floor, Barber wrote and directed "Idlewild" the 1930's period musical starring Outkast along side talents such as Terrance Howard, Ving Rhames, Cicely Tyson, Ben Vereen, and Macy Gray. Variety praised his work and noted: ““Idlewild,” aka “The OutKast Project,” achieves magic--something sorely missing from so many movies these days--and does so via a philosophy of respect, but not reverence, for what’s come before it; it never recycles, it just reimagines.” Building on one of the most successful music video careers of all time, Barber continues to push boundaries across all media outlets. His credit list speaks volumes, working with artists such as Christina Aguilera, John Legend, RUN DMC, Kelly Clarkson, and most recently, Justin Timberlake and Timbaland, to brands as diverse as Victoria's Secret, Nokia, Nationwide, Pepsi and Chevrolet. Spitfire welcomes Bryan and is proud to have him onboard, once again joining forces with long time creative partner Tripp Rhame, merging a rare blend of art and technology with a creative team like no other.

  Tom Hamilton

TOM HAMILTON
PHOTOGRAPHER
Since getting his feet wet on the yearbook staff in high school, Tom's photography career has taken him around the world several times over. His first newspaper assignment came while he was in the eleventh grade and led to a seven-year photojournalism run that was crowned with a Pulitizer nomination. Tom launched into the freelance world in 1981. With a growing client base and print orders stacking up, he opened a commercial photo lab to support his work. Influenced by Tom's early adoption of digital photography, the mid nineties saw the lab evolve into Spitfire Imaging and become an authority in the art and science of digital imaging. Encouraged by clients to expand their services, Spitfire entered the world of video production in 2000, unknowingly opening the door for trouble to come. In 2005 Tom joined forces with past-life associate Tripp Rhame, steering the company into broadcast production. Together they have built a company like no other in the Southeast, providing complete production support for agencies and creative groups the world over. Tom continues to shoot for a host of regional and national clients, as well as lending technical and creative support for the broadcast side of the house. He still has a lot of worlds to conquer and remains a pioneer in the rapidly evolving world of digital story telling. Pretty decent for a pimply faced yearbook photographer huh?

  Beth Marshall

BETH MARSHALL
EXECUTIVE PRODUCER
Real and no nonsense, Beth cuts to the chase. After graduating from The University of Georgia she went straight for the jugular, moving to ground zero of the entertainment world, Los Angeles. Splitting her week on the set of the cult hit Melrose Place and the NBC Mario Lopez vehicle Name Your Adventure, Beth learned first hand the real world demands of creative make believe and promptly left town to ski for a year. After getting enough of that powder fix, she decided to ditch the slopes and put her Telecommunication Arts degree to work, joining Citron Haligman Bedecarre in San Francisco. After four years in agency trenches and rising through the ranks of broadcast production, Beth headed back to Atlanta and landed at the one and only Cartoon Network. While there she led production of sponsored promotions, print advertising, and design for marketing and licensed products. After the birth of her twins in 2004, Beth took a break from the constant demands of the production world and produced events for EDIN, an Atlanta based non-profit. When the opportunity to join Spitfire Studios presented itself in the fall of 2008, Beth jumped at the chance to work with Tripp again as they had collaborated in the past on many Cartoon Network projects. Now comfortably settled at the helm, Beth couldn't be happier.

  Nate Foster

NATE FOSTER
VFX SUPERVISOR/DIRECTOR OF COMPOSITING
Nate's attraction to moving images began with a Fisher Price Movie Viewer and a cartridge of Disney's Lonesome Ghosts. His first foray into filmmaking resulted in a broken collarbone and the sobering realization that blowing things up could result in harsh prison time. With a clear view of what not to do, Nate decided to stay behind the camera and learn how to blow things up virtually. After graduating from The Savannah College of Art without a single felony conviction, Nate joined Primal Screen where he worked along side Tripp, compositing many live action and stop motion projects. Under the Primal wing Nate developed a sharp eye for detail and expanded his skill set immensely, working on a multitude of campaigns and racking up tons of prime time experience. In 2007 he went freelance and delved even deeper into the black art of live action compositing, pushing his work to the next level and making the seams invisible. If you can see the compositor's work, then they didn't do their job right. After many successful freelance projects with Spitfire, 2009 saw Nate jump onboard and take on the official title of "Chief Science Officer", heading up the Visual Effects and Compositing team. He daily reaffirms his commitment to produce stunning work, all the while making a huge dent into the coffee supply and interjecting random bits of seemingly useless knowledge in conversation and answering strange questions such as the atomic weight of Plutonium, which by the way is 244 in it's natural state.

  Jamie Blanche

JAMIE BLANCHE
GENERAL MANAGER

Born in Vegas and raised in North Carolina, Jamie knows both country and western. The year 2000 saw her move to Georgia to attend The Art Institute of Atlanta where she started her quest for retouching dominance. Joining Spitfire in 2004, Jamie worked her way up from the bottom through old style hard work and dedication. Now a constant on the set and a backbone at the studio, Jamie manages the Digital Lab and oversees all still cleanup. Amongst her time at Spitfire she has become a jack-of-all-trades (thanks Vegas) and now also counts hand modeling as one of her many skills.

Jennifer Boxley

JENNIFER BOXLEY

Jennifer's clients marvel at her ability to bring out the best in her subjects. Her creativity, energy, and wit combine to make her one of the most sought after young talents in the Atlanta area. In addition to her obsession with everything football (soccer in American speak), Jennifer has a penchant for not being able to make her printer work.
